Being stuck in your home during quarantine or a stay-at-home order can be very boring a depressing. Some might use this time to watch Netflix all day and binge-watch shows or movies, but there are productive things to do during this pandemic. Follow these tips to help feel more accomplished while you’re stuck at home.

Give everything a deep clean.

One productive thing to do is deep clean and organize areas that you have been putting off because of your busy schedule, you can clean your room and do your laundry or you can just disinfect your house to stay clean and safe. It will put you in a happier mood knowing the area you spend all of your time in is clean and put together.

Find a new book to explore.

Reading is a great way to grow your mind. You may have been so busy with school and other activities in your daily schedule that you didn’t have time to read a good book. Well, now is the time you can sit back and relax and enjoy a good book. Even if you never liked reading before, see if there are any interesting book around your home and give it a shot.

Stay active and get plenty of exercise.

Just because you have to stay home all day doesn’t mean you can’t get active and exercise. If you have a backyard, take a yoga mat outside and do some at-home exercises. If you have gym equipment in your home, then try to get some work in. A great way to get exercise is swimming, if you have a pool then go out there and swim for a while. At the very least, you can soak up some vitamin D whiling tanning and listening to some music. Maybe bring that book outside and give it a shot, too!

Try some new recipes, or come up with your own.

Everyone loves to eat. While you’re home, you can work on your cooking or baking skills. Look up easy recipes on YouTube to begin with and go from there. You can blow your family away with a great meal or dessert. Once you’ve mastered the basics, move on to more complicated dishes. Once you’re gotten the hand of it, you might even try improvising yourself. You may just create the next culinary masterpiece.

Treat yourself and practice self-care.

I personally love to spend one day a week treating myself to a spa day at home. You can put on a face mask and relax in a bath: it’s a great way to clear your head and unwind. There are many ways to clear your head and give a day to treat yourself, whatever makes you feel good and happy. You should take this time being stuck at home to really spend time with yourself and your family, try to make the best out of these circumstances. Most importantly stay safe and make sure you’re practicing social distancing.
