The 2016 political race is an absolute mess. Perhaps it’s been so for months, yet has just hit its apex this past week. Over the course of the last few days, we’ve seen the results of the “Super Tuesday” voting states, Mitt Romney emerge as the leader of the anti-Trump force, a wild 11th GOP debate, and plenty more madness ensured to come in the upcoming weeks.

To start with, Super Tuesday – Donald Trump won big, as expected (7 states), Ted Cruz had a strong showing (winning 3 states), and Marco Rubio finally got on the board with a win in Minnesota.

Doctor Ben Carson is expected to drop out of the race today, which is no surprise considering he has no shot at winning.

As for the final four, there are only two paths left for the nomination. Either Rubio and Kaisch win their delegate-rich home states of Florida and Ohio, or Donald Trump wins and becomes the presumptive nominee. Even if Kasich and Rubio can get a few wins, their only way to win the nomination would be through a contested convention, in which candidates would have to team up to reach the needed delegate count for the win. Either way, the nomination looks to be in The Donald’s grasp, and his nomination looks more and more inevitable by the day.

As for the Democrats, their race is all but over as Hillary Clinton seems an absolute certainty based on her delegate count. The only potential wrench in Hillary’s plans would be if the FBI decided to indict her in their open investigation, which is becoming an increasing possibility.

Back to the Republicans, who saw their former nominee (Mitt Romney) bash their presumptive nominee (Donald Trump). This development adds to the list of astonishingly crazy things that have happened this cycle, although these developments often seem normal due to state of the current race.

Hillary Clinton is on her way to becoming the first female nominee for President in our history, a monumental moment in our nation’s history, but this historical development doesn’t even make the news cycle. Rather, antics such as those displayed in last night’s GOP debate are stealing the show.

Last night’s debate began in an absurdly infantile manner, as the candidates began by comparing their manhood sizes. This is profoundly disgusting and so far below the respect of the Presidency that I’m disgusted one of the two major parties would conduct itself in such a way. The fact that an actual question in the GOP debate was “What’s your opinion of the KKK?” is absolutely indicative of the sate of the race, and is almost unfathomable as an actual question in 2016.

As we move along in this race, several states are set to vote on Saturday, along with more debates, eventually leading to March 15 – another “Super Tuesday” that will likely decide the race. These next few weeks are set to be a wild ride, but we will soon hopefully be past the current state of the race – a circus show.
