Voice of characters in Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites, Gravity Falls, and Adventure Time, and having an estimated net worth of four million dollars, is Justin Roiland. However, it seems that he might lose the fame, glory, and spotlight due to recent allegations.

On Jan. 24, the Rick and Morty Twitter page announced that Adult Swim, the network in which Rick and Morty airs, had cut ties with Roiland and that he had been fired. Prior to this, Roiland was charged with domestic violence in a court case.

According to NBC News, he had been charged with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury, and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit. The accusations came from an unnamed Jane Doe who claimed the event happened to her on Jan. 19, 2020.

However, this is far from the only accusation that has been made of Justin Roiland. Countless women have recently shared their stories about Roiland being sexual with them while they were still a minor.

For example, Justin Roiland allegedly contacted a 16-year-old fan and called her nicknames like “jailbait,” saying that she was “teasing him” with her attractiveness. He continued to make inappropriate comments towards her, telling her that she should get into pornography once she was older.

Twitter user @opossumopunk also shared their story about being manipulated by Roiland. In their tweet, they stated that the voice actor first contacted them on Twitter Jan. 16, 2019, when they were 16. A bit later, Roiland would tell them that they were ‘“hot” after they had mentioned that they were only 18.

In June of 2019, Roiland informed them that he was finally in town and they allegedly met up. Later, he attempted to convince her to drink alcohol at a party, and asked her to kiss another woman; they ended up leaving early.

On the podcast The Grandma’s Virginity, in 2011, he even talked about his attraction to minors who ‘look’ 18, and justified it by saying that, in previous times, 13 year olds would often be married and have kids. Only to say afterwards: “I’m not a pedophile, though.”

Justin Roiland had not only been fired by Rick and Morty, but by other shows he voiced, like the Hulu animated shows Koala Man and Solar Opposites. It is quite a shame how someone who’s been the voice of a show, part of many childhoods, has turned out to be a very bad person.

This phenomenon seems like it happens with a lot of famous people. Maybe the old saying is true: “Never meet your heroes.”
