On Friday, November 5, seniors Ryan Register and Sarah Darnley were crowned homecoming king and queen.

The coronation ceremony was held inside, before the game against Lyman, due to weather concerns.

The couple, who have been together for over a year both were not expecting to win.

“I thought there was a lot of other people [on court] that had a much higher chance of winning than me,” said Register.

However, the title was meaningful to both Register and Darnley.

“Winning with my girlfriend meant so much to me,” said Register. “I know she really wanted to win and I was just so excited to see her achieve that goal.”

Similarly, Darnley was thankful to share the moment with her boyfriend.

“It was awesome to win with him and share that special moment,” said Darnley.

After graduation, Register and Darnley plan to attend college. Darnley hopes to study mechanical engineering at the University of Florida. Although undecided about where he hopes to attend, Register’s plan is to study environmental management.
