Harry Styles concert brings hope to future for large gatherings
WEB EXCLUSIVE
The long-awaited Harry Styles concert took place on October 7th, 2021 at the Amway Center. Many fans have had tickets for this event since early November 2019. However, because of the COVID-19 virus, the artist was forced to postpone the ‘Love on Tour’ until it was safe to travel and gather in larger crowds.
“I actually originally bought my tickets the day he announced the tour.” Shay Buckman, a junior at Oviedo said. “I was obviously very upset when he rescheduled but understood.”
Many fans were unsure if the tour would ever actually happen because of the uncertainties that the virus comes with, but many kept their countdowns and hoped for the best.
To attend the concert, guests were required to have proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test two days prior. Wearing a mask was also required throughout the venue and during the performance.
Styles is a known performer, so the limitations of the audience did not hold him back. His extravagant yet humble personality shined through the entire concert and everyone in the room was enjoying him and the fact that they were able to be there.
“He has an amazing voice and he was always moving! I was having the time of my life.” Tina Kimel, a junior at OHS, said.
His stage was in the center of the arena so he was able to perform in a circle. While some artists might see this as a challenge, Styles took it on with ease. He did not stay in the same place for more than a song and everyone got a good show, no matter where you were seated.
